THE 2011 EDITION
The Pyxis Awards exists for 2 years now. Its goal is to recognize the outstanding work of our Pyxissians.
Here are the laureates for this 2nd edition:
DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR
This category recognizes the individual who contributed the most to Pyxis’ success since his or her hiring, who took place after September 1, 2010.
The laureate: Yves Ferland
In only a year, Yves demonstrated the extent of his knowledge. Furthermore, he took part in many strategic projects.
In order to meet ceaseless request of Agility, Pyxis’ target is to hire 22 new colleagues in 2012. We decided to take the IT labor shortage by the horns: we will give $2000 for each referral that we hire.
Don’t hesitate! Refer one of you contacts for one of the following positions: Scrum Master, organizational coach, team coach or technological consultant.
If the person you referred is hired, you will receive $2000. It is as simple as that!

As managers, we are paid to make sure people deliver on what they committed to. This is what I define as “integrity” – say what you’ll do and do what you said. Making sure people operate with integrity is a tough job!

The JiQ (Journée de l’informatique du Québec) event will take place on Wednesday, November 2nd. Jean-René Rousseau will be there as a speaker and he will talk about Agile transitions (Transition Agile : Démarrer du bon pied). In the last few years, Jean-René took part in numerous Agile projects and start-ups of Agile transitions. From this experience emerged flaws to avoid and tricks. He will share his experience with the audience in order to help them get ready for Agility. Many organizations have Agile initiatives undergoing, but few have real Agile transition projects. This conference will help them implement such initiatives.

Confronted with an issue? Bothered by something? Feeling upset but can’t quite figure out why? Here’s a simple exercise I recently attempted. In this context, I felt frustrated (couldn’t quite figure out why). I had many thoughts in my head but too much negativity to do anything constructive with the ideas.
I decided to try self-coaching. I know it sounds weird – “how can I ask myself powerful questions that will give me the answers I need” – you wonder.
To try self-coaching, I attempted (and slightly modified) an exercise suggested by Mark Levy in his book Accidental Genius: Using Writing to Generate Your Best Ideas, Insight, and Content.
